From the recording Mercywheel - 1999

More viola parts from Claudia Krone - this time kinda inspired by the beginning of a song by Katherine. A sad song, but what the hell. Decent bass line in some spots. Cool triangle. A few good harmonies and rhythms. But........ so-so.

A bit prophetic too, I'm afraid.

I like the ritard (slowing tempo) at the end.

Looking back at my original notes, the drum track was apparently recorded 6 months before the rest of the song - not sure why.

Lyrics

What's your name?
You look sad to me
Did something change?
Did your life unravel
I guess you wanna travel
Far from here
Like it's greener over there
But what you fear
I think you'll find it waiting
Like a siren song baiting you
Yeah you

What's your need?
What's your want?
I'd give it all but
It's not enough
You wanna be free
But do you really want
To give it all up?
Are you strong enough?

Why so down?
Did you fall for someone
Who's no longer around?
Well all I can give you
Is a hand to hold on to
Hey, are you alright?
I know your life didn't turn out
Like you hoped it might
Tired of depression
Think you need to change direction

What's your need?
What's your want?
I'd give it all but
It's not enough
You wanna be free
But do you really want
To give it all up?
Are you strong enough?

Is that a smile?
Can you throw another fear
Or regret onto the pile?
I'll help you hold the match
Until the flames catch and burn
Purify
Rising high
The sound of fire
Is a name
And desire is such a dangerous game
It's just a game

What's your need?
What's your want?
I'd give it all but
It's not enough
You wanna be free
But do you really want
To give it all up?
Are you strong enough?
