From the recording Plug Into The Real - 2003
Big guitar pop. The abrupt beginning is due to the fact that on the album this song comes directly out of 'Where Did Summer Go?'... the first chord is the last chord - a fun trick to work out.
I'm fond of the Beatle-y chords in the chorus, along with the unusual lyrics, which I worked on in my head every day for a week as I walked to work.
I also like the electric piano, the bass line, and the vocal harmonies.
Lyrics
Monday morn, out the door
The clock says 'hello' eight times
Maybe more
And if you think I'm running out of time
Well baby that's for sure
Tuesday morn, I salute
The multi-coloured rows of new recruits
And if you think flowers beguile me for hours
Well honey, you know it's true
Wednesday morning
The new sun starts to shine
Creation whispers in my ear: 'everything will be fine'
Life's a tumble, but everything's going to be just fine
Thursday morn, hear the chimes
The crickets shout your name in double time
And if you ask me what I'm going to be
Well baby, I'll be right on time
Friday morn, feel the breeze
Dizzy pinwheels wink at waving trees
And the big, blue sky whispers all the while
'Sugar, you are the bees knees'
Everything's going to be just fine
