Feel (2000)

DAMN COOL, no matter how you slice it.

I'm proud of the vocals, the funky bass, the backwards piano, the syncopated drum pattern, the 'telephone' vocals, the sound effects, the weird guitar sounds, the huge Queen-feel of the chorus, and the massive explosion of sonic love at the end....

Bring it!
You probably think I'm crazy
But I must admit I'm intrigued
I'm much too tired for sleeping
But I'm awake enough to dream

And it seems I'm always called back
To Double Pure

And we don't want to think
We don't want to feel
Believe all we touch is all that's real
We don't want to need
Don't want to be freed
Think our backs will break
If we bend our knee
We just want to laugh,
Must dam up the tears
Turn decades to months, and months into years

It isn't faith that makes me nervous
But religion engineered by man
Folding God like oragami
Until He fits so neatly in our hand

And we don't want to think
We don't want to feel
Believe all we touch is all that's real
We don't want to need
Don't want to be freed
Think our backs will break
If we bend our knee
We just want to laugh,
Must dam up the tears
Turn decades to months, and months into years

If I want to think...
If I want to feel...
Would you call me fake?
Could I still be real?
Not afraid to love
Not afraid to cry
I'm not afraid to sing
And what if I...
Was caring? And sharing? And love?
